The Bauhaus 1922 special edition of our Retrostar Chair is a tribute to the colors and shapes of the Bauhaus. Founded in Weimar in 1919, the color theory became the focus of the Bauhaus starting in 1922. Itten, Klee and Kandinsky are probably the 3 most prominent representatives of this doctrine. According to Itten, colors are in balance when the eye can complete them to a totality and the mixture of two or more colors results in a neutral gray. Although the Bauhaus was officially only allowed to exist for 14 years, its findings and developments are revolutionary and still shape our environment in many ways.

Description

Thanks to its timeless lines, the Retrostar Lounge Chair enhances any interior. Available in various colours and variations, the reduced and clear design also ensures that it takes up little visual space - making it ideal for smaller rooms.

The Retrostar Lounge Chair offers optimum comfort with its generously upholstered, slightly curved seat and backrest, which has a steel suspension. Thanks to the slightly backward sloping seat, a pleasant reclining sitting position is guaranteed. The elongated backrest, which slopes slightly forward in the head area, offers a great sitting position with good head support and is therefore also ideal for longer rest breaks.

The slender, tapered armrests form a charming contrast to this. They are handcrafted from solid wood and are a real delight to the touch.

What is piping?

Piping is the name given to a cord set in a fabric band. Edge seams on upholstered furniture or cushions are finished with it and at the same time stabilized and made more durable.
