Sustainability is a big word. Perhaps too big to use lightly. In an industry that tends to make promises, we believe in something simpler: taking responsibility for what we can actually influence. Not abstract offsets, but decisions that start right here in our workshop.

We don't control the rainforest—we control our craft
As a design manufacturer, we don’t make promises we can’t physically verify on the other side of the world. Instead, we focus on what we have right here: local integrity. Our wood is FSC-certified, our supply chains are short, and our production takes place right here at home. We don’t plant imaginary trees—we build furniture that lasts.

“An armchair for life—and beyond.”
Good design ages gracefully. If your upholstery shows signs of wear after 8 years or if an accident has occurred, we offer a dedicated repair service. We’ll replace the upholstery instead of the chair itself. We’ll pick up the piece of furniture from you—in a used box, of course—because for us, conserving resources means keeping the cycle small.

Logistics Over Brand: Why You Won't Find Teak Here
Out of conviction, we primarily work with beech and oak. Why? Because we believe in material integrity. Teak may be a classic of Mid-Century, but it inevitably comes from the other side of the world. Even an FSC certification does nothing to change the poor carbon footprint of a journey across the oceans. We focus on what grows right on our doorstep—for furniture that is as ecologically sound as its construction.
Our exception to the rule: Upon request, we’re happy to use other types of wood for your one-of-a-kind piece. But we stay true to our principles: We only use wood that didn’t have to be shipped to us in a container. If it was grown in Europe and meets our quality standards, we’ll make it happen. Everything else we leave to the mass market.
