What is piping?
Piping is a visible, slightly raised seam edging on upholstered furniture.
It's sewn between two fabric or leather panels and highlights lines and transitions.

Along with its design appeal, piping can also make the seam sturdier and define a piece of furniture's contours more clearly.

Effect
A piece of furniture with piping usually looks more precise and classic.
Without piping, it appears calmer and more modern.
