Sustainability
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central components of Sternzeit Design.

Returned furniture is refurbished rather than disposed of. Fabric Samples cut by hand from fabric scraps to minimize waste.

All fabrics are certified to at least the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are REACH-compliant. All leathers carry at least the Blue Angel eco-label. The materials come from selected manufacturers in Germany, Italy, Poland, and Portugal.

What is Piping?
Piping a visible, slightly raised seam trim found on upholstered furniture.
It is sewn between two layers of fabric or leather and accentuates lines and transitions.

We primarily work with beech and oak because they reflect our philosophy on furniture: honest materials, local sourcing, and long-term durability.

Instead of imported tropical woods, we focus on wood that grows closer to home and meets our standards for quality and durability.
