The Retrostar Chair Queens Gambit Set combines timeless seating comfort with a special piece of film history. In the summer of 2019, we had the privilege of contributing furniture to the Netflix miniseries *The Queen’s Gambit*, which was filmed primarily in Berlin. Our furniture was used, among other places, on the hotel sets in Las Vegas and Mexico—this Monstera Edition is featured particularly prominently in the Mexico scene where Beth plays against Georgi Girev.
The generously padded, slightly curved seat and backrest with steel springs ensure comfortable seating even during extended periods of sitting. The seat, which slopes slightly backward, promotes a relaxed, reclined sitting position. The slender, tapered armrests made of solid wood—which are meticulously handcrafted and feel comfortable to the touch—provide a striking contrast.
