Metal Frame For select models, we use a **powder-coated steel frame** to support the structure.

The steel comes from the region, is sourced through Elgora near Berlin—a cooperatively organized trading organization—and is produced in Eisenhüttenstadt. This ensures short transport distances and correspondingly low CO₂ emissions. The powder coating is applied locally near our warehouse in Eberswalde near Berlin.

Metal allows for slimmer profiles, precise lines, and long-term structural stability.

In many cases, we combine metal with wood to achieve the right balance between stability, comfort, and durability.

Sustainability
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central components of Sternzeit Design.

Returned furniture is refurbished rather than discarded. Fabric Samples hand-cut from fabric scraps to minimize waste.

All fabrics are certified to at least the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are REACH-compliant. All leather carries at least the Blue Angel eco-label. The materials come from selected manufacturers in Germany, Italy, Poland, and Portugal.

Piping a visible, slightly raised seam edging found on upholstered furniture.
It is sewn between two pieces of fabric or leather and accentuates lines and transitions.
