The steel is sourced locally, procured through Elgora near Berlin—a cooperatively organized trading structure—and produced in Eisenhüttenstadt. This ensures short transport routes and correspondingly low CO₂ emissions. The powder coating is applied locally near our warehouse in Eberswalde near Berlin.

In many cases, we combine metal with wood to achieve the right balance between stability, comfort, and durability.

Sustainability
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central components of Sternzeit Design.

Returned furniture is refurbished rather than disposed of. Fabric Samples hand-cut from fabric scraps to minimize waste.

All fabrics are certified to at least the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are REACH-compliant. All leathers carry at least the Blue Angel eco-label. The materials come from selected manufacturers in Germany, Italy, Poland, and Portugal.
