Sustainability
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central components of Sternzeit Design.

Returned furniture is refurbished rather than disposed of. Fabric Samples hand-cut from fabric remnants to minimize waste.

All fabrics are certified to at least the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are REACH-compliant. All leathers carry at least the Blue Angel eco-label. The materials come from selected manufacturers in Germany, Italy, Poland, and Portugal.

What is Piping?
Piping a visible, slightly raised seam trim found on upholstered furniture.
It is sewn between two layers of fabric or leather and accentuates lines and transitions.

Instead of imported tropical woods, we focus on wood that grows closer to home and meets our standards for quality and durability.

A fine steel spring system in the seat cushion, combined with comfortable rubber webbing in the backrest and the slim upholstery, ensures optimal comfort. To me, the Apollo Lounge Chair more than just “retro”—sure, it looks great… but once I’ve sat down and propped my feet up on the Apollo Lounge Footstool, the only thing missing is flying chicken drumsticks to make me feel like I’m in the Land of Milk and Honey.
